"BUDDY" He fought a good fight. He passed from pain into peace at his home on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at 2:15 a.m. He was 68, a resident of Zachary and a native of New Orleans. He was the retired owner of SFI Inc. Visitation at Plains Presbyterian Church, Zachary, on Friday, Jan. 20, from 11:30 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Woody Markert. Interment in the Young Family Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bette Jo B. Heaslip; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jay Roden of Dallas; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Jean Heaslip of Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Leo D'Aubin of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Taylor, Scott, Hunter, Riely, Joshua, Matthew, Joel, Holland and Ryan; mother, Frances C. Heaslip of Hammond; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Tony Berner of Ponchatoula; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Faye Heaslip of Brandon, Miss.; brother, David Heaslip of Baton Rouge; an aunt, Ruth East of Wesson, Miss.; mother-in-law, Barton B. Reinberg and her husband, Louie Reinberg, of Zachary; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Miles P. Heaslip Sr. He loved to hunt, fish and golf. He was a member of Plains Presbyterian Church and Plains Men's 3-D. Pallbearers will be Harry Morris, Bobby Bickham, Johnny McKowen, Charles Snyder, Darrel Walton and John Chaney. Memorial donations may be made to Plains Presbyterian Church Building Fund and Hospice of Baton Rouge. The Heaslip Family would like to thank all of his doctors, nurses, family and friends for their support.
