Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., was on Monday, May 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 23, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by her niece, the Rev. Dr. Mary Elizabeth Moore. Burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Erline Harris Heaton was born in Olla on Sept. 8, 1921. She graduated from Olla High School and received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Louisiana State Normal School (now Northwestern State University). She taught home economics and agriculture in Tangipahoa Parish before taking a job as a research assistant at the Standard Oil Refinery in Baton Rouge during World War II. She married attorney Wade Hampton Heaton and was a homemaker and mother until her husband's death in 1972. She was active in many volunteer and social groups including the Junior League, the Rebels Club and La Lecture. She earned her real estate license and worked as a successful agent until she retired in the late 1980s. One of six siblings, she is survived by a sister, Cleo Harris Hinton; and two children, Wade Hampton Heaton Jr. and Virginia Heaton Lejeune. She had three grandsons, Tristan, Forrest and Noah Lejeune, who will also act as pallbearers along with their father, David. ***************************************************************************
