He was born April 2, 1927, to the union of the late Earl and Cecil Antoine, in Ventress. Jim accepted Christ at an early age and was christened at St. Augustine Catholic Church in New Roads. He was an avid servant of the Lord and a faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Jim attended Rosenwald School in Ventress and was a dedicated Christian man who devoted his life to Christ. Albert "Jim" Hebert was united in holy matrimony for 50 years to the late Rose Mary Hebert, and to that union three loving sons were born. Jim also raised a beautiful daughter. He was an endearing person with many friends, a faithful worker and advisor who touched the lives of family and friends. Jim was also a man of few words with a quiet demeanor. However, whatever he said, he meant. Albert "Jim" Hebert surrounded himself with things eternal and lived many aspects of his life the same way. He was a hard worker and was employed for more than 20 years for Louisiana Concrete Co. and the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy where he enlisted for two tours. He was dedicated to his country and fellow man. Albert "Jim" Hebert is survived by two loving sons, Terry G. Hebert and Albert Hebert Jr.; a daughter, Fannie H. Martin; and a granddaughter, Shawn Cotton, of Baytown, Texas. He is also cherished by two sisters, Sister Mary Magdalene (Society of the Holy Family) of Shreveport, and Zenobia Valdrey and husband Darryl, of Los Angeles; two brothers, Bruno Antoine, of Hammond, and Rudolph P. Antoine and wife Anne, of Beaumont, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Lois Ashford, Annette Myles and Rosemary Joseph, all of Baton Rouge; four brothers-in-law, Jessie F. Joseph Sr. and wife Annie Merle, John D. Joseph Sr. and wife Edmonia, Michael P. Joseph and wife Val, all of Baton Rouge, and Milton Joseph Jr. and wife Viola, of Ventress; several godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Albert "Jim" Hebert was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Hebert; a son, James "Pookie" Joseph; and parents, Earl and Cecil Antoine. He will be greatly missed by all. A native of Jeanerette but a resident of near Oliver for more than 50 years. She was the former Miss Alice Johnston, the daughter of the late William Jerry Johnston. Lillian was born to Fannie and Percy Powell and was the oldest of seven children. She graduated from Spring Creek Elementary and high school. While in high school she played basketball. Upon graduating high school she attended Southeastern where she graduated with a B.A. degree in Home Economics. She even played basketball in college. Lillian continued her education at Nicholls University where in 1973 she received her B.A. degree in elementary education. After graduating she taught one year at Weeks Island in Iberia Parish. The following year, she came to M.D. Shannon in Morgan City as a replacement teacher. During this year she refereed basketball games on a high school level. The very next year she became a fourth grade teacher and taught this grade until she retired. She loved and cherished her students very much. Lillian stayed active and loved her time spent with her family, who were her joy in life. Lillian enjoyed going back to her family home to the country in Tangipahoa Parish. She was also a member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City. Lillian will be missed tremendously by her family and friends who love her very much. Lillian is survived by her only son, Percy Francis Hebert and his wife, Angela Mary Drash Hebert; one granddaughter, Corp. Amanda Victoria Hebert Roy and her husband, Staff Sergeant Josh of North Carolina and one great granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Roy; one sister, Bobbie Lambert along with numerous nieces and nephews.
