She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters; Mary Davis, Brenda Hilliard, Earnestine Tate and Paula Forney, three sons; Phillip, Jessie and James Tate, Jr. She also leaves 3 sisters; Beverly Williams, Yvonne Holmes and Annie Gayle and two brothers; Melvin and Len Hegwood as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Mary Hegwood, her children, Darryl and Trina Tate, sister Mildred Lloyd, brothers; Ernest Earl, Glen and Shelby Hegwood and lifetime companion, James Tate. Visitation will take place at Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday from 5 until 8 p m. Pastor Jerry Hanible will conduct funeral services there on Friday at 11 a m. He was a native of Independence. He is survived by five sisters, Mable Hegwood and Beverly Williams, both of Hammond, Evon Homes of Greensburg, Mildred Llod of Natalbany and Annie Gayle of Florida; three brothers, Lynn and Glenn of Hollywood, Fla., and Melvin Hegwood of Covington; and her mother, Mary Hegwood of Natalbany. Visitation will be today at Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at Reimer's-Gordon COGIC, Amite, at 11:30 a.m. W.K.
