He was a native of French Settlement, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was Catholic and a retired welder. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Frances Simmons Heintz; four daughters, Sandra Starks of Watson, Laura Harris and Betty Wilson, both of French Settlement, and Marion Louivere of Prairieville; a son, Wallace Heintz of Florida; two stepdaughters, Betty Norton of Baton Rouge and Connie Achord of Prairieville; three stepsons, Glenn Avery of Baton Rouge, Wayne Avery of Prairieville and Larry Avery of Denham Springs; two sisters, Nora Babin and Elaine Juban; a brother, Edward Heintz; seven grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Two daughters, Catherine and Annette Heintz; two brothers, Clifford and Gilbert Heintz; and a stepgrandson preceded him in death. The Rev. Keith McAlister conducted the funeral this afternoon at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, and burial was in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. ***************************************************************************
