She was 100 years of age, born Feb. 7, 1912, in Chatawa, Miss. She lived most of her adult life in rural St. Helena Parish in the Pine Ridge Community. Visitation will be at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, La., on Tuesday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 18, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Rev. Dr. Joshua Brown, pastor of Greater Temple Chapel Baptist will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Kentwood, La. Survived by her daughter, Janice Marie Dawson; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, including Helen, Annette, Carolyn, Mary, Patsy Ruth, Wallace Jr., Fred and Minister Frank. "Wina" is also survived by the children that she loved, spoiled, and claimed - Coutney, Travis, Melissa, Anna Maria and Brantley, and their children. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hester; parents, John and Annie Cohn; sister, Lillie Cohn Brumfield; brothers, Willie "Bill", Wallace, Hollis, Earnest, Oscar, Arthur and Atto. Pallbearers will be Travis Day, Brantley Taylor, Lynn Day, Jerry Barnes, Oscar Cohn, Fred Cohn and Vickie Forrest.
