HIGGINS, ETTA RUTH
Holden - Etta Ruth Higgins, 58, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in Holden. 
She was a homemaker, a native of Oncenta, Ala., and a member of Magnolia
Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William Higgins, Holden;
daughter, Christina Bankston, Tickfaw; two sons, Michael Higgins, Robert,
Owen Higgins, Tampa, Fla.; mother, Elsie Witt Gates, Hammond; brother,
Charles Cobb, Ponchatoula; and eight grandchildren. Her father, Ty Cobb;
and stepfather, James O. Gates, preceded her in death. Visitation will be
at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral
at noon. The Rev. Richard Wallace will conduct the service, and burial will
be in Stafford Cemetery.

HIGGINS, GLEN L.
A resident of Mount Hermon, he died at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at
North Oaks Rehabilitation Center, Hammond. He was 70 and a native of
Liberty, Miss. Visitation was at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation at the funeral home from noon until
religious services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. James Hearn.
Interment in Roberts Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by his wife, Carolyn
Merritt Higgins, Mount Hermon; two daughters, Linda Higgins Hotard,
Madisonville, and Janet Higgins Barlow, Amite; a son, Walton Higgins, Mount
Hermon; four brothers, Murray E. Higgins and Jerry Higgins, both of
Liberty, Frank M. Higgins, Gloster, Miss., and Benton L. Higgins,
Slaughter; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death
by his mother, Nora Smith Higgins; father, Willie James Higgins; two 
brothers, W.J. Higgins Jr. and Phillip Higgins; and a sister, Norma Higgins
Lester.

HIGGINS, WOODROW W.
Line Creek - Woodrow W. Higgins, 82, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at his
home.  He was a native of Liberty, Miss., a farmer/hauler and a veteran of
the U.S. Army, World War II.  Survivors include his wife, Lorese "Sally
Hyde" Higgins, Line Creek; two sons, Donald Higgins, Gillsburg, Miss.,
Ronald Higgins, Slaughter; two granddaughters; three stepdaughters, Barbara
Duncan, Denham Springs, Donnis Byrne, Walker, Linda Hyde, Kentwood; 12
step-grandchildren; a brother, George H. Higgins, Baker; and sister,
Elizabeth Threlkeld, North Little Rock, Ark.  Four brothers, William J.,
Marshall E., Robert S. and James Edgar Higgins; and three sisters, Estelle
Rainwater, Edith Lee and Mae Dimattia, preceded him in death.  Visitation
will be at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, tonight from 6 to 9 and at 
Gillsburg Baptist Church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Bill Bolton will conduct the service, and burial will be in
Gillsburg.
