Survived by a son, Michael Arthur Hilbun, Walker; two daughters, Carolyn Hilbun Kinchen, Albany, and Diane Hilbun Rose, Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Amanda Kinchen, Jessica Kinchen, Karyn Sibley, Leah Rose and Kris Hilbun; four great-grandchildren, Jolie Angele Sibley, Garrison Elliot Sibley, Madison Olivia York and Michael Austin Hilbun; and two brothers, Efford Hilbun, Houston, and Leroy Hilbun, Rye, Texas. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Olivea Lilly Hilbun; parents, Arthur Sr. and Leoda Burch Hilbun; a son, Charles Anderson Hilbun; a sister, Hazel Higginbotham; and a brother, Harold Hilbun. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hammond. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge in the European theater. He was awarded the Purple Heart and several other military commendations. He was a watchmaker for more than 40 years and owned Hilbun's Jewelry Store in Hammond. He retired from the U.S. Army and had served on various Army posts in the United States, the Far East and Europe during World War II and the Korean War. Throughout his military career, in war and peace, he demonstrated loyalty and courage to his country.
