He served our country in the U.S. Army in Germany from June 30, 1959 to June 14, 1962, which was during the Berlin Blockade, where he earned the Good Conduct Medal. Winford became a Master Mason in 1967 and was a member of the Pine Grove Lodge #288 F&AM. He was a bass singer with the Joyers Quartet and other groups as well, one of which was the SeekerÕs Quartet of Loranger. Winford was known to many as "OleÕ Bear", an active church member for many years, presently a member and Sunday School teacher at Magnolia Baptist Church, an avid fox hunter and a truck driver/heavy equipment operator. Winford leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Lana Sheridan Hill; two daughters, Connie Dee Hill Cutrer and husband Ronald, Cynthia Lee Hill Byers and husband Drury; a son, Lawrence "Skipper" Winford Hill II, along with five grandchildren, Jason Cutrer, Mathew Wells, Kody Byers, Seth Byers and Kaitlyn Byers; three great- grandchildren, Kaylie and Holden Cutrer, Laiken Wells.
