HIMES, DOROTHY M.
Amite - Dorothy M. Himes, 78, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at North Oaks 
Medical Center.  Survivors include her sons, Nathaniel Himes Jr., San
Antonio, Texas, Earl Himes, Amite, and Carl Himes, Los Angeles; her
daughters, Alice Watson Himes, Amite, and Carolyn Himes Gibson, New
Orleans; her sister, Yvonne Coleman, Amite; her brother, Xavier Smith, Jr.;
35 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Her husband, Nathaniel
Himes Sr., her son, Elliott Himes, and her brothers, Earl, Glen and
Clarence Smith, all preceded her in death.  Visitation will be today at
Grants Chapel AME from 4 p.m. until the religious service at 7 p.m. with
dismissal at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Alexander Giles will conduct the 
service. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery, Amite.  Richardson Funeral
Home, Amite, is in charge of the arrangements.
