HINTON, GERRY E. 
Slidell - Gerry E. Hinton, 70, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at his home.
A native of Columbia, Miss., he was a practicing chiropractor, former
Slidell city councilman and retired state senator, a U.S. Army veteran of
the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post No. 185, past president of
the Slidell Jaycees and past master of Slidell Lodge No. 311, F&AM, charter
member of BPOE, Lodge No. 2321 and a member of First Baptist Church,
Slidell.  Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 10 with a Masonic service at
8 at Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell. The Rev. Jim Baham will conduct the
funeral service Thursday at 11 a.m., and burial will be in Forest Lawn
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARC, 1541 St. Ann
Place, Slidell 70460, or a charity of one's choice.
