Slidell - Gerry E. Hinton, 70, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at his home. A native of Columbia, Miss., he was a practicing chiropractor, former Slidell city councilman and retired state senator, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post No. 185, past president of the Slidell Jaycees and past master of Slidell Lodge No. 311, F&AM, charter member of BPOE, Lodge No. 2321 and a member of First Baptist Church, Slidell. Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 10 with a Masonic service at 8 at Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell. The Rev. Jim Baham will conduct the funeral service Thursday at 11 a.m., and burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
