He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a retiree of Gulf States Utilities and a member of IBEW Local 2286 and American Legion Nicholson Post 38. He died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Paula Hobbs of Corbin; two sons, John W. Hobbs and wife Debbie, and Kenyon E. Hobbs and friend Ashleigh LeBit of Corbin; daughter, Karen Sproles of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Homer "Buck" Hobbs and wife Brenda of Statesville, N.C., and Murphy "Boot" Hobbs and friend Jenny of Greensea, S.C.; four sisters, Carolyn Sue Arnold, and Joyce Guyton and husband Richard, all of Lexington, S.C., Linda Townsend and husband Don of Walker, and Marion Guitreau and husband Vernon of French Settlement; mother, Juanita Jackson of Walker; grandchildren, Julian Francis Hobbs, Ryan Zachary Hobbs, Jerad Westberry, and B.J. and Brittany Sproles; mother-in-law, Ann Jordan of Denham Springs; two brothers-in-law, Michael and Val Marshall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmon A. "Pete" Hobbs; stepmother, Dorothy Hobbs; and grandson, Cody Dale Westberry. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home chapel, Denham Springs, on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 4 p.m. until the memorial service at 6 p.m. ***************************************************************************
