He was retired with Delta Airlines as a senior customer service agent and a previous owner of Promotional Marketing Rainbow Vacuum Cleaners in Hammond. David served in the Korean conflict with the U.S. Army and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. He and his wife, Laura, were volunteers with North Oaks Hospice. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Hoffpauir, of Ponchatoula, and his devoted daughter, Dawn Elizabeth Higginbotham, of Robert. He also leaves behind a sister, Juanita Johnson, of Winslow, Ariz.; and a brother, John "Buddy" Hoffpauir, of Florida. He will be sadly missed by his family and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 La. 190 West, Hammond, on Tuesday, March 18, at noon, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery.
