A native of Covington and a truck driver, he had lived in Hammond for five years. He is survived by a son, Gage Holcombe; a daughter, Haley Holcombe; his parents, Jesse James Holcombe and Glenda Walden; a brother, Jay Holcombe of Covington; three stepbrothers, Darrin, Jason and Ray Williams; and grandparents Elanor Ruth Brown and George Lewis Sr. Visitation will be at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington today from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 10/28/2007 HOLCOMBE, MICHAEL "SCOTT" A resident of Ecru, Miss., and a native of Bogalusa, he died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at his home at age 41. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Visiting was at Cherry Creek Baptist Church in Ecru was on Friday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continued at the church on Saturday, Oct. 27, from noon until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jason Davis. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Heather Holcombe; son, Michael Shane Holcombe, of Ecru; mother, Mary Anne Brooks and spouse John, of St. Francisville; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sheila and Jason McGehee, of Bogalusa, Tanya and Daryl Adams, of Jackson, La., Linda Slaven and Rebecca Slaven, both of Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law, Faron and Kris Holcombe, of Gonzales; grandparents, Austin and Georgine Holcombe, of Bogalusa, and Gene Strong, of Amite; nephews, Jarid Adams, Jermi and spouse Ashley, and Jayce Adams, all of Jackson, La., Jean Paul and Wesley Holcombe, both of Gonzales, and Josh Latino, of Bogalusa; nieces, Jada Adams, of Jackson, La., and Shanna Latino and Makena and Jessie McGehee, of Bogalusa; and great-niece, Bailee Adams, of Jackson, La. He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Wilson "Bill" Holcombe; grandmother, Mable Strong; sister, Cathy Slaven; and his natural father, Kenneth Wayne Slaven.
