Margie was a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Hammond. She died at 8:15am, Friday, April 20, 2012, at her residence. She was 94. Margie was a charter member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. She was also a longtime member Krewe of Romany, Order of the Eastern Star and the East Baton Rouge Parish Retired Teachers Association. Visitation will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church Sunday from 1 p.m. until the religious service at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Terry Ellis. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. She is survived by her daughter: Jean Heineman & husband Jim of Springtown, Texas; her son: Jerry A. Hollimon & wife Lynda of Hammond; four grandchildren: Kimberly Hoover & husband Wyn, Bradford Hollimon & wife Amy, Casey Heineman & wife Ashley, and Jodie Lamb & husband Lauren; five great- grandchildren: Chase and Jack Hoover, Sophia and Lillian Hollimon, and Hadley Heineman. Margie was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Griffin Hollimon; her parents: Benjamin T. & Fannie Myers Bennett. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Oaks Hospice, P. O. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. in charge of arrangements. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 11/3/2007 HOLLIMON, THOMAS GRIFFIN Tom Hollimon passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in Hammond, surrounded by his children and loving wife of 67 years, Margie Hollimon. He was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army 853rd, receiving a Purple Heart Medal for his actions. After World War II, Tom began his career in education, serving in the state Department of Education and was later chosen to be the first principal of Belaire High School. A charter member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Tom was a member of Trinity Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, KCCH, Valley of Baton Rouge, Acacia Shrine Temple, East Baton Rouge Retired Teachers Association, Nicholson Post of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Margie Bennett Hollimon; son, Jerry Hollimon and wife Lynda; daughter, Jeanie Heineman and husband Jim; four grandchildren, Kimberly Hollimon Hoover and husband Wyn, Brad Hollimon and wife Amy, Casey Heineman and wife Ashley, and Jodie Heineman; and two great-grandchildren, Chase Hoover and Sophia Hollimon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Russell and Francis Huldy Purvis Hollimon; and six siblings. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Friday, Nov. 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 9755 Goodwood Blvd., on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev.
