Funeral services for Floyd Chester Holly, Jr. will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Father Cyprian Eze, Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima will conduct the services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mr. Holly, 89 of Lafayette, passed away on March 1, 2008. A native of Tioga, Louisiana, he was born on July 14, 1918 to Floyd Chester and Ilda Garnett Simpson Holly. Mr. Holly is a US Army Veteran of WWII serving his country in Europe. After the war, he graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute. He worked for Ziegler Dairy in Crowley, La. and the United Fruit Company in Honduras. Most of his career was in dairy milk production where he worked as a sanitarian and field inspection supervisor for Borden's in Lafayette and Lake Charles and later for Southern Milk Sales. A resident of Westlake, Louisiana for 47 years, he was an active member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church and served other community organizations including the Boy Scouts of America and was a Councilman for the City of Westlake. Floyd's parents, brother Billy D. Holly and sister Ilda Josephine ³Jo² Robertson preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie Jeanne Fournet Holly, and their sons and wives: Jack and Linda Waterman Holly of Bahrain, David and Catherine Bering Holly of Katy, TX, Michael and Denise Tullier Holly of Hammond, LA, and Benjamin and Thrista Hernandez Holly of Mandeville, LA.; grandchildren, Jason Holly and wife Melissa, Sean Holly and wife Lisa, Zachary Holly, Jacob Holly, Megan Viktorin and husband Brian, Rachel Holly, Jessica Holly, Graham Holly, Martin Holly, Claire Holly, Emily Fowler and husband Jimmy, Jonathan Holly and wife Hannah, Patrick Holly and wife Mica, Kevin Holly, and Phillip Holly; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, and Nathan Holly, Caroline Viktorin, and William Fowler. He is also survived by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Ducharme of Lafayette and Clara Estelle Hurst of Baton Rouge and many nieces and nephews. Delhomme Funeral Home in charge. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 3/23/2008 HOLLY, MARIE JEANNE FOURNET Funeral services for Marie Jeanne Fournet Holly will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, with Rev. Justino Estoque officiating. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary, led by Father Joey McGrath to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Delhomme Funeral Home. A second visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Holly, 85, of Lafayette, passed away on March 20, 2008. She was born in Lafayette on September 29, 1922 to Jean Jacques and Ann Aurore Labb/ Fournet. She attended S.L.I. prior to the US entry into WWII. During the war, she worked for Western Union in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. She married Floyd C. Holly Jr. in 1946. After living in Honduras, Crowley, LA and in Lafayette, they resided in Westlake, LA for 47 years. In Westlake Jeanne was involved in many activities at St. John Bosco Catholic Church: she taught CCD (catechism), was a Eucharistic minister, belonged to the Ladiesı Altar Society, the choir, the hospitality ministry, and she was an active participant in the churchıs annual bazaars. In June of 1990, she received the Benemerenti Award, a pontifical award in recognition of distinguished service. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, and her brothers Paul A. Fournet and James A. Fournet. She is survived by her sons and their wives: Jack and Linda Waterman Holly of Bahrain, David and Catherine Bering Holly of Katy, TX, Michael and Denise Tullier Holly of Hammond, LA, and Benjamin and Thrista Hernandez Holly of Mandeville, LA. Fournet, Frederick A. Fournet, and Daniel J. Fournet, and sisters Anna Louise Fournet French and Nell J. Fournet Comeaux.
