HOLSTEAD, DOROTHY MINETTE
A resident and native of Amite, she died at 1:05 p.m. Monday, April 26,
1999, at her home. She was 70. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Thursday. Religious
services at St. Helena Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by
the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Amite Cemetery. Survived by husband,
John Claude Holstead, Amite; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin H. and
Camile Currier, Monroe, and Sherry H. and Jeff Aycock, Hot Springs, Ark.; 
a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Jennifer Holstead, Allen, Texas; a
brother, Charles R. Eldridge Jr., Amite; a sister, Bobbie Lee Darouse,
Houston; five grandchildren, Jennifer Courrier and husband Jason Boyle,
Cori Aycock, Amy Aycock, Audrey Holstead and Jack Holstead; and an aunt,
Pauline C. Wayne, Amite. Preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Lynn
Holstead.

HOLSTEAD, JOHN CLAUDE
A native and former resident of Amite, he died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb.
10, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe. He was 84, a resident of
Monroe and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served
with the 452nd Air Service Group. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home,
Amite, on Monday, Feb. 11, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at
the funeral home on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 am. Religious service at
St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the
Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Mulberry Street Cemetery, Amite. Survived by
his two daughters, Robin H. Currier and husband Camile, Monroe, and Sherry
H. Aycock and husband Jeff, West Monroe; son, Johnny Holstead and wife
Jennifer, Allen, Texas; six grandchildren, Jennifer Currier Boyle and
husband Jason, Cori Aycock Oliver and husband Jason, Amy Aycock, Audrey
Holstead, Jack Holstead and Allysa Holstead; and three great-grandchildren,
Eleanor and Claire Boyle and Karson Oliver. Preceded in death by his wife,
Dorothy Minette Eldridge Holstead; daughter, Holly Lynn Holstead; and
