He was born on November 23, 1939, in Clay Center, Kansas. Mr. Holtgren was a Director of Administration for the city of Hammond, a charter member of the Tangipahoa Parish Home Builders Association, and served on the CCA Committee. He was a member and deacon for the First Presbyterian Church of Hammond. Mr. Holtgren also helped establish the Boys and Girls Club in Hammond. He was an avid fisherman and a friend to many. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Debbie Blomquist Holtgren; 2 sons, Ryan and Jason Holtgren; daughter-in-law, Tracy Hinton Holtgren; grandson, Hunter Holtgren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Kathy Blomquist; and nieces, Kim and Stacy Holtgren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewain and Bernice Holtgren; mother-in- law and father-in-law, Evelyn and Curtis Blomquist; and brother, Darwin Holtgren. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 9 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond.
