He was a well-known, respected person and will be dearly missed by family and friends. Visitation at Mount Olive Baptist Church, La. 1, Lettsworth, on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Lionel Davis. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by his devoted mother, Jossie H. White, of Lettsworth; two sons, James Smith, of Lettsworth, and Willie Honore Jr. and wife Taiwo, of Baton Rouge; stepson, Gary Payne; stepdaughter, Dietra Brown, of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, including twins, Tyler and Tyrese Lee, and Anita Honore; seven sisters, Janie Thomas and husband Warren, of Hammond, Josie Thomas, Verna Honore, Irma Honore and Laura Honore, all of Baton Rouge, Rosie M. Dailey, of Innis, and Beverly Honore, of Houston; eight brothers and seven sisters-in-law, Roosevelt and Kathy Green, Michael and Joanne Green, Donald Sr. and Shannon Green, and Richard and Robyn Honore, all of Baton Rouge, Fred and Daisy Honore, of Lettsworth, Larry and Catherine Honore, of Batchelor, Paul and Louise Honore, and Joseph Honore, all of Houston; loving niece, Malinda Henry and husband George, of Alexandria; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Honore Sr.; maternal grandparents, Willie and Malinda Baker Hayes; paternal grandparents, Fred Honore and Isabella Honore; brothers, James L. Green and Joe Green Sr.; and sisters, Brenda and Linda Honore. Thanks to the caregivers and to all of those who cared enough to take the time to offer prayers and words of comfort and encouragement during our time of need.
