HOPPER, ETHEL
Age 79 and a resident of New Orleans, Ethel passed away Thursday, September
18, 2008 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. She loved to spend quiet time
reading and painting; but most of all, she was devoted to rearing her son
after the death of her husband in 1969. She is survived by her son, Leonard
Hopper, Jr.; granddaughter, Victoria Hopper and two sisters, Jacquline
Butler and Mary Monwillo.  Ethel was preceded in death by her husband,
Leonard Hopper, Sr. and one brother, Harris Butler.  Relatives and friends
of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of
Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond on Monday, September 22nd
at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in
Greenlawn Cemetery.  Condolences and other information available online at

G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.

HOPPER, LEONARD D. SR.
DIED: March 30, 1969 - Hammond - Religious services for Leonard D. Hopper
Sr., are scheduled at 3 p.m. today at the Thomas Funeral Home in Hammond. 
The 51-year old native of New Orleans and native of Oklahoma died Sunday at
Baptist Hospital in New Orleans.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in 
Hammond.  His widow is Mrs. Ethel Butler Hopper.  Other survivors include
his father, Nolan E. Hopper of New Orleans; one son, Leonard E. Hopper Jr.
of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. R.T. Graham and Mrs. Elmer Armstrong,
both of New Orleans; and two brothers, Kenneth Hopper of Cameron and Jack
Hopper of Orlando, Fla.
