HOTARD, GENE DAVID
Forever in our Hearts... Gene David Hotard, born October 28, 1947, died May
31, 2007, age 59, passed away at North Oaks Hospital, Hammond, La., May 31,
2007.  Beloved father of Michelle Hotard, Daniel Hotard, Matthew Hotard,
Christine Hotard, Valeri Hotard, Therisa Hotard, Kelly Hotard. Son of the
late Verna Marie Hotard-Hanna; step-son of Robert A. Hanna Sr. Brother of
late Paul-Robichaux; survived by brothers, Robert C. Hanna, Jimmy M. Hanna,
Robert A. Hanna Jr. Grandchildren, Michael and Matthew.  Mr. Hotard was a
U.S. Marine Corp, Vietnam veteran and college graduate. Longtime insurance
agent, avid boatman, fisherman, bi-cylist, reader, nature lover,
photographer and traveler. Loved pets, his cajun roots and especially loved
his children. Talked about them often. A fun loving dad, brother and
friend.

HOTARD, SIDNEY JOSEPH, SR.
Sidney Joseph Hotard Sr., 85, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at his home in
Ponchatoula. Mr. Hotard was born Dec. 3, 1923, in LaPlace. He was a
resident of Reserve and Convent before moving to Ponchatoula. He was a
World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a
lifetime member of the Lutcher Veterans of Foreign Wars. Many residents of
the River Parishes depended on Mr. Hotard and the Hotard Bus Line for their
transportation to New Orleans. He was also an employee of Krauss Department
Store for 38 years before retiring in 1988. Mr. Hotard is survived by his
loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Vicknair Hotard; their five children and
spouses, sons, Sidney Jr. and Marie Nelson Hotard, Lawton and Anita Ernst
Hotard, Callen and Coleen Martin Hotard; and daughters, Nadine and Daryl
Higgins and Rhenda and Paul Hodnett. He is also survived by 12 grand-
children; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Hotard; and two
sisters, Marie Hotard Sutton and Rita Hotard. Preceded in death by his
parents, Etienne X. Hotard and Regina Simon Hotard; two brothers, Albert
Hotard and Etienne "State" Hotard; and two sisters, Amanda Hotard Audiffred
and Lucille Hotard Williamson. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral
Home, Ponchatoula, on Friday, Jan. 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, on Saturday from 9 a.m. until
funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. In
lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to St. Joseph Hospice, 19405 Helenberg
Road, Suite 206, Covington, LA 70433, are preferred.

HOTARD, WINFIELD JAMES
Winfield James Hotard, age 78, died on Nov. 5, 2009 at Northshore
Speciality Hospital in Covington. He was born in Norco and was a resident
of Ponchaotula. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Rachal
Hotard; 3 sons, Davie, Derrel and Darren Hotard; daughter, Rachel Eady; 
4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Theodore and Lilly Hotard; brother, Theodore "Ted" Hotard, Jr..
and sister, Beverly Pankey. Geisler Funeral Home of Ponchatoula in charge
of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at
