He was a native of Natalbany and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, the Masonic Order, the Shriners, the Scottish Rite, the Hammond Scottish Society and the American Legion. He was retired from Canal Mortgage having served as a loan processor for 45 years. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University. Survivors include his brothers, William Scott Howson Jr. and Robert E. Howson, both of New Orleans. Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Tuesday after 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, 100 West Church St., Hammond, 70401 or the charity of one's choice. ***************************************************************************
