She was 85 and a native of Meridian, Miss. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 10 a.m. Monday until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ray Williams. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by her three sons, Joseph F. Hulse, Chalmette, Henry H. Hulse, Jacksonville, Ark., and James W. Hulse, Covington; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Hulse Sr.; a son, Caldwell D. "Carl" Hulse Jr.; parents, James and Mollie Huber Harris; two sisters, LaFaye Melton and Mable Williams; and three brothers, James, Bill and Frank Harris. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 10/18/2009 HULSE, SHARON LOU O'DELL Sharon Lou O'Dell Hulse completed this life's journey on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, after a brief illness. A celebration of her life and life everlasting was held on Wednesday, Oct. 14. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, teacher, friend and talented musician. Sharon was preceded in death by her twin sister, Karen Sue O'Dell Eskew. Sharon is survived by her husband of 38 years, Steven Hulse; her children and their spouses, Angie and Trevor Van Wyk, Adam and Lauren Hulse, and Chris and Ashley Caplis. She had six grandchildren. Sharon was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.S. "Digger" O'Dell. She was the sister of the Rev. and Mrs. Larry O'Dell, of Baton Rouge, and Dr. and Mrs. Jack O'Dell, of Ponchatoula. Sharon was the daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Verle Hulse, of Minden, and the sister- in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hulse, of Houston, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Eskew, of Minden. Sharon is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
