She was 87, born April 18, 1914, in Tangipahoa Parish. She was the daughter of the late Joe E. Stewart and Linnie McGehee Stewart. She was a 54-year member of Central Baptist Church in McComb and a retired associate with Rofler Sculpture-Kut. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Willie F. Smith; her second husband, T. Lawrence Hunt; a son, James Smith; two daughters, Jane Idell Smith and Agrea Ann Smith; and three sisters, Mildred Smith, Lavelle Dickey and Beatrice Cutrer. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stewart Smith Sr. and Aileen Smith of McComb; three grandchildren, Catherine Brooking and her husband, Greg, of McComb, Stewart Smith Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Theresa Ann Fisackerly and her husband, Wiley, of Lake Jackson, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Burial in Hollywood Cemetery. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in the Hammond Daily Star on: 8/31/2012 HUNT, MILTON Age 71 and a resident of Hammond, Milton passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at his residence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whom will be missed dearly. Milton served in the U. S. Navy from 1959 through 1962. He also had a successful 44 year career running fried chicken restaurants, at first with KFC in Houston, TX, then owning and operating his own Popeyes and ChurchÕs Chicken franchise in Louisiana. At times in his life he was an avid amateur hunter, fisherman, thespian, card player, contractor, ballroom dancer, beekeeper, and golfer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Milton leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Shirley Moore Hunt; son, Matthew Hunt and wife Sondra; grandchildren, Sarah and David Hunt. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Colbert of Grenada, Miss., and Gerrie Aldridge and husband Earl of Gainesville, Texas; his brother-in-law, Rodney and wife Kathy of Beaumont, Texas, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Milton in death were his mother, Lennie Thompson, step-father, William Earl Thompson; sister, Louwilda Paxton and his brother Robert Hunt. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday Sept. 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. until the funeral service at noon, the location of which will be announced at the visitation.
