He was born on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1918, in McComb, Miss., son of the late William Hupperich and Mary Sanders Hupperich. He was a history professor for 30 years at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond. He also retired as a colonel after 27 years in the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Chris Hupperich; two grandsons and their wives, Scott and Nancy Hupperich and Lee and Julie Hupperich; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Olivia and Matthew Hupperich. Preceded in death by his wife, Louise Bell Hupperich; sister, Billie Hupperich Cleghorn; and brother, Orion Hupperich. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She was 84. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son, Hammond, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Graveside service at Bell Cemetery, Husser, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Eric Latham. Survived by her husband, Herman C. Hupperich, Hammond; a son and daughter- in-law, William "Andy" and Chris Hupperich, Hammond; two grandsons, Lee and Scott Hupperich; a great-grandson, Benjamin Hupperich; a great-grand- daughter, Olivia Hupperich; and two brothers, Herbert Bell, Amite, and O.R. Ralph, Hammond. Preceded in death by her parents, Adolphus and Mary Bignar Bell; and a daughter, Billie Lou Cleghorn. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to North Oaks Hospice, P.O.
