He was a native of Albany, self-employed as a Diesel Mechanic and member of the Operators Local in Baton Rouge. He was a member of the Hungarian Historical Society in Albany and grew up in the Hungarian Settlement, sharing his faith at the Hungarian Presbyterian Church. He is also survived by one son, Kerry Stewart, New Jersey; four daughters, Tammi Richardson and Jeanna Richardson, both of Springfield, Laura Parsons of Robert and Kimberly Howell of Albany. He was adored by his grandchildren, Mickie Thompson, Ravien Parsons, Kemp Ann Richardson, Ike Richardson, Billy Richardson, Holly R. Bethel, Ashleigh Howell, Megan Oliphant, Cody Oliphant, Trey Oliphant, Abby Howell, Allie Howell, Addie Howell, Kate Lynn Starkey, William Starkey, II, Valerie Barron, Levi Stewart, Kaleb Stewart and Kyle Stewart. Bill loved his seven great- grandchildren, Mason Thompson, Skylar Bethel, Mackenzie Richardson, Mallorie Richardson, Colin Parsons, Madison Barron and Kaden Barron. His loving sister, Susie Huszar, along with other brothers and sisters also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Mae Daniels Huszar. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond, Wednesday, May 30, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 11/17/2000 HUSZAR, ROSE KATHERINE GALYA Rose Katherine Gayla Huszar, 92, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Landmark Nursing Home and Rehab Center. She was a native of Albany, a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and an honorary member of Hungarian Cultural Association. Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary H. Vicknair, Albany; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Gladar Huszar; two sons, John A. "Buddy" and Alexander G. Huszar; brother, Andrew Galya; and three sisters, Nora Loth, Elizabeth Verona and Anna Fisher, preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, tonight from 6 to 10. Deacon Warren Fortenberry will conduct the funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. and burial will be in Hungarian Presbyterian Church cemetery. ***************************************************************************
