He was a laborer and a native of Washington Parish. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He is survived by two sons, Claude Gerald Hyatt of Franklinton and Larry Wayne Hyatt of Loranger; two daughters, Marilyn Ruth Garrett of Gulf Port, Miss., and Marlene Hyatt Rainey of Loranger; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation is today from noon until the funeral 2 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., Covington.
