He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, American Legion Post 58 and the Amvets Post 68. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Andy was retired from the Hammond Office of the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul A. and Sharon Ivanyisky; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ivanyisky and John C. Friedman, all of Albany; three brothers, Alex Ivanyisky Sr., Denham Springs, and Steve Ivanyisky and Mike Ivanyisky, both of Albany; three sisters, Margaret Resetar and Elizabeth Bordok, both of Albany and Ethel Hudak of Merrillville, Ind.; four grand- daughters, Rebecca Barksdale, Malinda Smith, Sarah Ivanyisky and Kristina Friedman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Ivanyisky; his parents, Joseph and Suzanna Filczer Ivanyisky; five brothers, John, Joe, Paul, Frank and Louis Ivanyisky; and a sister, Mary Mocsary. Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home in Albany, Tuesday, July 20, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a vigil scheduled at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. A Mass will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Albany, Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at 10 a.m. with burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to North Oaks Hospice, P.O. Box 2668, Hammond, LA 70404. She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Ivanyisky of Albany; one son, Paul L. Ivanyisky of Albany; one daughter, Patricia Friedman of Albany; one brother, Paul Pavlinsky of Mayfield Village, Ohio; and four grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday. Burial was in St. Margaret Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to North Oaks Hospice.
