She was born December 24, 1947 in Hammond, LA to William Keen Jackson and Beth Cowan Jackson Bauerle. Linda Kathleen was married to Stan Vance Hamilton for 9 years. She was a member of Crowley First Baptist Church since 1986. And she served as the Past Matron Fern Leaf Chapter #24, Order of Eastern Star. "Ms. K", as she was known back then, taught Louisiana history at Crowley Middle School for 29 years. She had a special bond with all of her students and was a mother to many during those tough adolescent years. Linda Kathleen never met a stranger. She was always willing to help a family member, friend or her loyal students at the first sign of need. She enjoyed her years after retirement traveling across the United States and Canada. She was witness to the birth of her first granddaughter, Yafa-Zain Marouf and recently welcomed her second granddaughter, Saja Marouf. With selfish sorrow, eternal love, and highest regard, her family bids their beloved mother farewell as she joins our little brother Conrad Simeon King and her father William Keen Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was 83, born in Hammond on Dec. 21, 1926. She received her bachelor's degree and master's degree plus 50 hours in education from Southeastern Louisiana University, and taught in the parochial and public school systems for 24 years. She retired in 1978 from Hammond High School, where she taught in the business department and was head of the Distributive Education Program. Mrs. Jackson and her husband were avid square dancers for many years. They also loved to travel, spending their retirement traveling to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Mrs. Jackson also loved crafts. She enjoyed making stuffed animals, Christmas elves, blankets, clothes and pictures for her children, grandchildren, niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Fincher Rice; and father, Francis Drury. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, L.D. Jackson Jr.; daughter, Delorah Jackson Jester, of Houston; two sons, Dennis Charles Jackson, and L.D.
