She was a native of Pauline. Survivors include three daughters, Janelle Jacob Breaux and Sylvia Jacob Bazile, Gonzales, Debra Jacob Savoy, St. Amant; four sons, Roland J. Jacob Sr., St. Amant, Linden A. Jacob, Denver, Huey P. "Gerald" Jacob Sr., Maurepas, and Eugene J. Jacob, Gonzales; s sister, Julie Massi, Lowell, Ind.; 35 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Malue J. Jacob; a daughter, Dolores Jacob Clonatre; an infant granddaughter; an infant great-grandson; three sisters and four brothers, preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Tuesday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The Rev. J. Joe LaBauve and the Rev. Herculon DeMaria will conduct the funeral service at 11 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, and burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Amant. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 4/6/2012 JACOB, IRA LEE PERKINS Ira Lee Perkins Jacob passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the age of 69. She was a resident of the Guest House in Baton Rouge, LA. Ira was born on November 15, 1942 in New Orleans to John and Shirley (Rankins) Perkins of Greenburg, LA. She was one of twelve children. At an early age, Ira married and began her family. She subsequently became the mother of four daughters and two sons. Throughout her life, Ira resided in New Orleans, Marksville, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. To those who knew her, Ira was an excellent cook, with a wonderful sense of humor. She was forthright, sociable, candid and direct. She took pride in her appearence and strived to look her very best, even during difficult times. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Shirley Perkins as well as two brothers, John Jr. and Armond Perkins, and a grandson, Keenan Porche'. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Debra Mills (Bennie) of Slidell, Louisiana, Kimberley Faulkner (Raymond) of Tampa, Florida, Dana Porche' of Jackson, Mississippi, Stephan Sanders of Tyler, Texas, Miguel Jacob (Michelle) of Longview, Texas, and Shannah Jacob of Kema, Texas. Ira was grandmother to ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is survived by five sisters and three brothers: Cornelia Blackburn of Baton Rouge, LA, Constance Wagner (Rev. Herbert) of Hammond, LA, June Perkins (Polland) of New Orleans, Veronica Shepard of Midwest City, OK, Condrumel Gordon (Osburn) of Baton Rouge, Rudy Perkins (Teresa) of Palm Desert, CA, Ronald Perkins of New Orleans, Donald Perkins of New Orleans, and a host of nieces and nephews. A native of Vacharie, she was a sales clerk. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Elaine Jacob; five brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond. The Rev. Carl Coleman will conduct the funeral Wednesday at 11 a.m. at True Love Baptist Church on Range Road.
