(May 31, 1912 - August 17, 2011) Annette C. Jett passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. She was 99 years old. She was the beloved mother of John and Joan Jett and adored grandmother of Jennifer Jett. Though she was from Reedville, VA and lived there most of her life, she began spending part of each year with her son John in Hammond in 1997 and she moved permanently here three years ago in 2008. John, Joan and Annette moved to Mandeville last year to be near their daughter and her family and Annette loved nothing more than spending time with them, especially her great grandchildren, Nicholas, 5, and Julien, 4. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. He was a native of New Orleans. He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Foster Jett of Ponchatoula; one daughter, Vicki Lynn Lewis of Mobile, Ala.; one son, John Alfred Jett Jr. of Amite; four sisters, Mary Preston, Edith Smith, Willie Mae Crenshaw and Lidia Ann Jett, all of New Orleans; and three brothers, Albert E. Jett, Charles D. Jett and Ronald T. Jett, all of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by one brother, James E. Jett. Visitation will Friday at Tasker's Memorial AME Zion Church, Ponchatoula, from 4 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Willie G. Johnson Sr. will conduct the funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Ponchatoula Cemetery. N.A. John was born on September 27, 1956 to the late John A. Jett, Sr. and Katherine Bridges Jett-Roy in New Orleans, LA. He was married to Shelia Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Shelia Thomas; sons and daughter, Andre L. Jett (Kentie), Jonathan Davis, both of Amite, LA, Krystal Moore of Hammond, LA and; six grandchildren, Ariyanna, Ke'ahna, Dylan, Dustin, April and Takyre; mother, Katherine Jett-Roy and sister Vicki L. Lewis both of Baton Rouge, LA. Also close to his heart were his friends William Breaux and Leslie Jackson; six uncles, seven aunts and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his father John A. Jett, Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith A.M.E.
