JOHNS, COLEMAN,  JR.

Coleman Johns Jr., 86, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003. He was a native of 
Hammond and was a retired electrician. He is survived by three daughters, 
Carlyn Barnes of Sonta Maria, Calif., Marilyn Glears of Bonita Springs, 
Fla., and Shirley Ann Poindexter of Campbell, Ohio; and one sister, 
Lillie Gray of Hammond. He was preceded in death by his parents. The 
funeral was held today. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. 
Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge.

JOHNS, MACK  

Mack Johns, 85, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at North Oaks Medical Center, 
Hammond. He is survived by one sister, Lillie Gray of Hammond; and one 
brother, Coleman Johns of Bonita Springs, Fla. Visitation will be today 
from 5 to 9 p.m. at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond. The Rev. Larry Cross 
will conduct the funeral Saturday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 
Hammond, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

JOHNS, RUSSELL  

Russell Johns, 89, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at North Oaks Medical 
Center, Hammond. He worked for 34 years at Citizens National Bank. He is 
survived by his wife, Gistena Johns of Hammond; one daughter, Lois Tillman 
of New Orleans; one sister, Lillie Gray of Hammond; two brothers, Coleman 
Johns Jr. of Miami and Mack Johns of Hammond; four grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Johns. 
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at N.A. James Funeral Home, 
Hammond. The Rev. Jerry Hanible will conduct the funeral Wednesday at 1 
p.m. at Greenfield Baptist Church, Hammond, and burial will be in 
Greenlawn Cemetery.

JOHNS, WILLIAM H., SR.
William H. "Willie" Johns, Sr. was born July 12, 1943 and passed away at 
3:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving 
family. He was 69, a native of San Antonio, TX and a resident of 
Independence, La.  He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Becky Poole 
Johns; 5 children, Yvonne Sanchez, Yvette Ayala and husband Rudy, William 
Johns, Jr. and wife Rebecca, Joshua Johns, Christopher Johns and wife 
Damitra; 2 sisters, Joyce Platt and husband Curtis, Lois PenaĠ and husband 
Robert; brother, Lee Roy Johns and wife Norma; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-
grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephew and extended family.  Preceded in 
death by his parents, Henry and Celestina Villarreal Johns; 2 brothers, 
James Johns, Bert Johns; sister, Lucy Ray Pursch.  Celebration of Life 
Memorial Services at a later date.  McKneely & Vaughn Funeral Home, Amite,
