She was born July 14, 1921, in Kansas City, Kan., to the late Charles George and Loretta Faye Floyd Casemore. After relocating with her family to New Orleans as a young girl, she lived, worked, married and raised a family. Her early career consisted of work for Delta Airlines at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport and many years at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, starting as a switchboard operator and, later in life, as a medical secretary in both the Blood Bank and Pathology departments. After retirement, she continued to stay active while briefly living in Merced, Calif., working with the Merced College Library Department, the Merced Travel Agency and the Country Villa La Sierra Care Center in the city. Fascinated by her personal heritage, she dedicated many hours to researching family genealogy. She is survived by her sons, James Robert Jung, of Merced and Ronald Virgil Jung, of Tickfaw; sister, LaDene Mowen, of Mandeville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
