A native of St. Louis and a resident of Baton Rouge for 57 years, he passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at his home. He was 84 years old and a World War II veteran, serving in active duty in the European Theater as a staff sergeant. He was a member of the 102nd Reconnaissance Division. He had the honor of serving Gen. George Patton ice cream, which he loved. He received two Bronze Star Medals and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed by Piccadilly Cafeteria for 41 years. She was a recipient of the 2002 Louisiana Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer of the Year and the 2006 LSU Purple and Gold Award. She was past president of the Louisiana Hospital Association and the Baton Rouge General Hospital Auxiliary, an active member with LSU Alumni, University of Tennessee Alumni, St. Joseph Academy Alumni and Catholic High Alumni Associations. She also served on the pastoral care team and as a Eucharistic minister at St. Aloysius Church. She was a founding parishioner of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She donated the Millennium Gates to St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
