He was a native of Independence and a mechanic for the St. Helena Parish Police Jury. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother, Lela Kennedy; one daughter, Crystal Allison Kennedy; one son, Aubrey Brandon Kennedy; one sister, Sharon Kennedy; and one brother, Gary Kennedy of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie C. Kennedy; his paternal grandparents, Jess and Allie Kennedy; and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Martha Boudreaux. LeeRoy Kennedy passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, surrounded by family at his home in Livonia. LeeRoy was 61, born in Bogalusa on Oct. 14, 1949, and a graduate of Ponchatoula High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. LeeRoy retired as a mechanical supervisor from Exxon with 36 years of service. In 2009, his family and church family celebrated the joyous occasion of his baptism at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. He was part of the RCIA team the following year. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family especially with his grandchildren, "Awesome Lawson" and "Reese-E-Cup." He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl Laurent Kennedy; son, Anthony Jerrold "A.J." Kennedy and wife Lauren; grandchildren, Lawson and Reese Kennedy; father, D.L. LOUIS, Miss. - Percy Eugene Kennedy, 86, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Biloxi, Miss. He was a native of Mount Zion Community in Pike County, Miss., and a retired chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served during World War II, the Korean War and the war in Vietnam. He was born in McNeil, Miss., on June 10, 1922, and was reared in Ponchatoula. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1946, he moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU on the GI bill and had lived here ever since. He was a cheerleader at LSU and an avid LSU Tiger fan. There was nothing that he liked more than a Saturday night at Tiger Stadium. He retired 20 years ago from the Baton Rouge office of the U.S. Postal Service as personnel manager. For the past 30 years, he and his wife Rosa were engaged in the real estate business and had their own brokerage firm. He was a member of the Elks Club, a charter member of the old Baton Rouge Traffic Club and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rosa Shipes Kennedy; former wife and mother of his children, Eula Hoover Selleck; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Kennedy Kratochvil and her husband, Ralph O. Kratochvil and Susan Kennedy McCumsey and her husband, Kenneth C. McCumsey; his beloved grandchildren, Kathleen "Katie" Kratochvil LeBlanc and her husband, Michael S. LeBlanc, Kenneth C.
