A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge. He was 61 and a native of New Orleans. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by his son, Daniel Paul Kenney Jr., Sun; a grandson, Jayden Daniel Kenney; a sister, Mary Kenney Deas, Franklinton; a brother, Mike Kenney, Hammond; four nephews, Steve Link, Brad Kenney, Wes Kenney and Patrick Kenney; and four nieces, Mary Beth Crovetto, Courtney Myers, Erin Kenney and Katie Kenney. Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Paul and Marguerite Wolf Kenney. He was an opinion writer and contributor to the Hammond Daily Star. He was involved in baseball for 39 years and was sports manager with the City of Hammond Recreation Department. Survivors include his fiancee, Priscilla Payne, Ponchatoula; three sons, Wes, Brad and Patrick Kenney, all of Hammond; three daughters, Courtney Kenney Myers, Hammond, and Erin and Katie Kenney, both of Ponchatoula; three step-children, Dorinda S. Bennett and Diane S. Adamas, both of Ponchatoula, and Micki S. Zahn, Robert; and one sister, Mary Kenney Deas, Hammond. He was prededed in death by his parents, Andrew Paul Kenney, Jr. and Moina Margerite Wolf Kenney; and one brother, Daniel Paul Kenney, Sr. The Rev. Paul Triah, the Rev. Lonnie Tucker and the Rev. Leon Dunn officiated the services. Burial was at Rose Memorial Cemetery. Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge.
