Albany - Alexander James Kerek Jr., 82, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. A native of Albany, Kerek was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired tool and die maker for 30 years in the automobile industry in Michigan. He also was a member of the Amvets, the American Legion of Springfield and a lifetime members of the Eagles. Survivors include his wife, Helen Glodan Kerek; one daughter, Eileen Stambaugh, Ypsilant, Mich.; one son, James Kerek, Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Mary Resetar, Albany; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Anna Kerek; his sister, Annie Hosh Fry; four brothers, Paul Kerek, Joe Kerek, Steve Hosh and John Hosh; and a granddaughter, Anna Marie Kerek. Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home Chapel, Albany, tonight from 6 until 9 and Friday from 8 until 9:45 a.m. The funeral will be at St. Margaret Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Leo Guillot officiating. Beatrice Hebert Kerek, 85 years old and a resident of Albany, died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born Friday, April 29, 1921. She is survived by a son and daughter- in-law, Jerome and Cheryl Kerek; daughters and sons-in-law, Deanna Kerek Kennedy and Claude-Larry Kennedy and Jackie Kerek Moore and Bobby Moore; grandchildren, Jerome Paul Kerek Jr., William Damain and spouse Shelly Kerek, Kimberly Kerek, Jada Kerek and spouse Michael Mayon, Crystal Kennedy Kerek and spouse Tommy McFadden, Troy and spouse Shannon Kennedy, Scott and spouse Lisa Kennedy, Lance and Robin Larocca-Kerek, and Lachelle Larocca-Kerek and spouse Jimmy Morgan; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Casey, Angelle and Clayton Kerek, Brock, Dru and Luke Mayon, Chace Girior, Brittany and Ross McFadden, Brianna, Logan, Makayla, Alyssa and Noah Kennedy and Jayse Morgan; and sisters, Marie Vaccaro and Gerry Coupel. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Kerek; sisters, Edna Ingolia, Ester Mollere, Florence Theriot, Olive Kerek, Lanny Schatzle, Ella Marroy and Blanche Landry; and brothers, Raymond and Lawrence Hebert.
