She was born Feb. 6, 1919, daughter of the late Alexander Emile Gaude and the late Hattie Franks Gaude. Mrs. Kevlin worked as a teacher for 50 years at schools including Ponchatoula High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula. Surviving are sister, Helen G. Varnado of Denham Springs; three sons, Ed Kevlin of Ponchatoula, John Kevlin of Sylva, N.C., and Mike Kevlin of Kingwood, Texas; two daughters, Zanda K. Pregeant of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Elizabeth K. Flynt of Carriere, Miss.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Ross Kevlin; and sister, Eunice G. Orr. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Monday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, July 18, after 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Religious service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery.
