He was a Hammond native. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Kidder Starnes, Hammond, and Mary Florence Kidder, Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Jack Kidder, Baton Rouge; five children, 11 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Kidder; second wife, Evelyn Borne Kidder; parents, Thomas Grant and Ruth Armstrong Kidder; and two brothers, Conrad Grant Kidder and Thomas Grant Kidder Jr. A private graveside service was held Saturday at Grace Memorial Cemetery. A native of Hammond, he was a former resident of Baton Rouge, member of First Presbyterian Church, Baton Rouge, and a retired accountant of Ethel Corporation. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Carr Kidder; one daughter, Melanie Kidder Gentiles of Old Ocean, Texas; three sons, Rodney Kidder of Baton Rouge, Brian Kidder of Lacombe, and David Kidder of Slidell; two sisters, Helen Kidder Starnes of Hammond, and Mary Florence Kidder of Florence, N.C.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Grant and Ruth Armstrong Kidder; three brothers, Connie, Edward and Tom Kidder. Visitation will be Thursday at First Christian Church, Hammond, from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be in in Grace Memorial Episcopal Church Cemetery.
