She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and retired from Bellsouth Phone Company after 38 years of dedicated service. Marion leaves behind her two sons, Kenneth Smith and wife Andrea, Kendall Smith; grandchildren, Heather Smith Faucheux, Jeffrey, William, Wesley and Mallory Smith, and Zachary Blackwell, along with a great-grandson, Dalton Faucheux. She is also survived by her siblings, Douglas Harper and Bonnie Mount; Carol Fancher, whom she considered a daughter along with her children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Marion in death were her husband, John Kling; parents, Floyd and Bessie Mulkey Harper; infant sister, Nedra Harper. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, from 8:00 a.m., until the funeral service time.
