He died peacefully surrounded by family. He was born in Kankakee, Illinois, graduated from St. Patrick's School, served in the U.S. Navy, and married his beloved, wife Janet Graves on July 5, 1952 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. In 1985 Janet and Jack moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama and enjoyed their dream of living near the water. Jack's greatest gifts were presiding over Our Lady of the Gulf's altar servers and creating "The Chapel of the Holy Child." Jack was magnetic to children of all ages. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; his children, John Kravat, Linda Hooks, Nancy Kerne, Cathy Burns, Kim Nickens, Robin Blanchard and Rick Kravat; twenty-one grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Harriet Kravat, his siblings, Cheryl and Jerry, his son Dale, grand- daughter, Lainey, and "Baby Becky." In lieu of flowers donations should be made to North Oaks Hospice. We are forever grateful for the loving care of the Hospice staff. Even when Jack could no longer speak, he was able to capture the hearts of those who cared for him through his expressions. ***************************************************************************
