He was born on Saturday, December 13, 1924, in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of the late Herman Kron and the late Eunice Hymel Kron. Surviving are 2 sons, Clarence Kron Jr., Glynn Kron; daughter, Gail Kron DeGrouttola; 5 grandchildren, 1 great- grandaughter, 2 brothers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Campeaux Kron and his brother Herman Kron Jr. who died while serving with the U.S. Navy Aboard the U.S.S. Indianapolis in 1945. Mr Kron served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Landing on Normandy Beach, he fought through Germans and was injured and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of L.S.U. Law Enforcement and served with the JPSO. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Louisiana. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m.at Harry McKneely & Son. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, LA KRON, EDGAR JOSEPH, SR. Age 87 and a resident of Ponchatoula, Edgar passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center. Edgar, Sr. was a loving, giving and hardworking man, who loved driving his tractor, watching his grandchildren ride horses, watching JennaÕs dancing performances and going to his grandchildren's baseball and softball games. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of dedicated service and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, who served our country during the Korean Conflict. Edgar Sr. leaves behind one son, Edgar J. Kron, Jr. (USMC) and his wife, Brigitte Eckert Kron and two daughters, Donna Kron Bryant and husband Jerry and Mary Ann Kron Luteman and husband Randy, along with his 5 grandchildren, Brandon & Jenna Luteman and Rebecca, Sarah & Emily Kron. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Kron, Sr. (U.S. Navy). Preceding Edgar, Sr. in death were his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Roser Kron; parents, Herman Edward and Marie Himel Kron; brothers, Herman Kron, Jr. (USS Indianapolis) and Clarence Kron, Sr. (U.S. Army). Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the religious services from the chapel of Brandon G.
