"JACKIE" A farmer and a resident and native of Ponchatoula, he died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 61. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Friday, celebrated by the Rev. Justin Kauchak, O.P. Interment in Wetmore Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Scottie Harris Kupper, Ponchatoula; two sons, Kippy Kupper Jr. and Scott Kupper, both of Ponchatoula; a daughter, Terri Kupper, Ponchatoula; three sisters, Mary Scanlan, New Orleans, Carmen Wolf, Baton Rouge, and Jean Pinion, Chalmette; a brother, Killian "Bubby" Kupper, Ponchatoula; and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Killian and Lucille Jones Kupper; and a sister, Inez Lavigne. She was born Nov. 27, 1940, in Columbia, Miss., the daughter of the late Dwight and Nettie Cosper Harris. She was a Ponchatoula strawberry farmer for 45 years. She is survived by a daughter, Terri Suzette Kupper, Ponchatoula; two sons, Lionel J. "Kippy" Kupper and Gregory Scott Kupper, both of Ponchatoula; three sisters, Susie McCallum and Becky Lee, both of Tylertown, Miss., and Elenore Stevens, Brandon, Miss.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel "Jackie" John Kupper. Friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, from 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Justin Kauchak, O.P.
