Zachary -- Andrew H.C. Kusch Jr., 76, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at his home. He was a veteran of the Louisiana State Police and retired as captain and troop commander of Troop A. He served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner's mate on the USS Stevens. His memberships include the Louisiana State Troopers Association, American Legion Post 38 and Louisiana Peace Officers Association. He is survived by his wife, Josie Caioppo Kusch, formerly of Hammond; one daughter, Kathy Gremillion; two sons, Robert Kusch and Andrew "Tiger" Kusch III; eight grandchildren; and his sister, Alice Schlenker. His parents, Andrew and Norma Kusch, preceded him in death. Visitation will be today at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 to 9 p.m. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be Friday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Greenwell Springs, from 10 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11. Burial will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 7/2/2011 KUSCH, JOSEPHINE CACIOPPO Josephine "Josie" Cacioppo Kusch, 79, a native of Hammond and a resident of Zachary, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Josie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Known for her great cooking and loveable character, "MeMe" was cherished by her entire family. She was the type of Christian woman who did more for everyone else than she ever did for herself. She was unselfish and giving which was manifested in her service to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church as a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Prime Timers, Eucharistic Ministers, the Bereavement Committee and her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Josie was a registered dietitian with 30 years experience and was a member of the American Dietetic Association. Josie is survived by her children, Kathy Kusch Gremillion and husband Doug, Deacon Robert Kusch and wife Carla, and Tiger Kusch and wife Robyn; grandchildren, Jason, Justin and Jennifer Gremillion, Rachelle, Rebecca and Robert Kusch II, and Angelle and Andrew Kusch V; sister, MaryAnn Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew H.C. Kusch Jr.; parents, Dominic and Biaggia Amadeo Cacioppo; siblings, Janie Giacone, Carlos Cacioppo, John Cacioppo and Cyrus Cacioppo. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Friday, July 1, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation resumes at the church on Saturday, July 2, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
