"CHARLEY" Mr. Kuss went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 7:40 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 84, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Kentwood. He was a U.S. Navy pharmacist's mate veteran of World War II and a deacon at First Baptist Church, Kentwood. Visitation at First Baptist Church, Kentwood, on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Joey Miller. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by his wife, Kathryn Shaw Kuss, Kentwood; daughter, Bonnie Kelsey and husband Mike, Amite; two sons, Charles F. Kuss Jr. and wife Betty, Rome, Ga., and Dr. Kit D. Milton R. Kuss, 87, of Chalmette, LA, passed away on July 4, 2013. A memorial service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA on July 8, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a service at 5:00 p.m. Milton was born in New Orleans to Albert and Estelle Kuss. He enjoyed a long and happy marriage to his wife Florence (Mickey) who precedes him in death. Milton was an Army Veteran of World War II. He worked as an employee of the American Can Company for thirty-four years. He and Florence celebrated life with family and friends by participating in card playing clubs, cruise vacations, Mardi Gras balls and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is remembered by his family for his joyful outlook on life, friendly nature and incredible sense of humor. Milton is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Estelle; 3 brothers Arthur, Albert and Charles; sister Teresa; son-in-law Kenneth; and his dear wife Florence.
