She was a native and lifelong resident of Covington until moving to the nursing home. She was a retired teacher, having taught elementary education for 42 years in the St. Tammany Parish School System, mostly at Covington Elementary School. She attended Normal School in New Orleans and received her teaching degree from Southeastern University. She was also a member of Covington Presbyterian Church, the Louisiana Retired Teachers' Association, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star Covington Chapter. Survivors include her sister, Lois L. Gibson of Hammond. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, three brothers, and her parents, Paul Joseph and Pauline Zinser LaCroix. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. at Schoen Funeral Home, Covington, until the funeral at 10:30.
