He was born on Thursday, Aug. 2, 1945, in New Orleans, son of the late Fleury L. and Gladys Lemore Lafargue. He graduated from Cor Jesu High School in New Orleans and attended University of New Orleans. Mr. Lafargue was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Hammond. He was a long time employee of Kostmayer Construction Company in Slidell. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, HAM radio and was involved in the Hammond Community Theatre. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Price Lafargue, daughter & son-in-law, Lauren and John Makar, son, Robert Lafargue, granddaughter, Danielle Elizabeth Lafargue, sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane L. and Richard Ott, Rochelle L. and David Hanemann, Annette L. and C. O. Pittman, 16 nieces and nephews, and 13 great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond and on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Hammond. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Hammond, on Monday at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hammond, 2200 Rue Denise, Hammond, LA 70403.
