She was 93-year-old and a native of Avoylles Parish, former resident of New Orleans and long time resident of Hammond. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Rita Lamartiniere, Hammond; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Gerald Owens, Hammond and Margie and Ray Lachney, Marksville; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Lamartiniere; parents, sons, Steven and James Lamariniere; one sister and one brother. LaMartiniere, John Lewis and Josie Bourgeois Hagen. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in the Hammond Daily Star on: 10/13/2011 LAMARTINIERE, RITA BERTHA BOUDOIN After a very long and courageous battle with numerous medical problems, including a recent liver and kidney transplant on October 11, 2011, a page turned and a chapter closed in the life of our beloved Mrs. Rita Lamartiniere. Her life's work here was done and the Lord called his good and faithful servant home. Rita was born Nov 18, 1942, in New Orleans, LA to the union of the late Elphege and Gertrude Bourgeois Boudoin. She was the fifth of seven siblings, and was a resident of Hammond, LA for the past 35 years. She was married to her devoted husband Mark Lamartiniere for 50 years. Rita was loved by all for her quiet strength and kindness which she displayed throughout her life. She was admired for her complete faith and trust in God her savior. She was a member of the Sonshine Ladies and the founder of Faithful Friends Gospel singing ministry. Ms. Rita loved reading the Bible, sharing its teachings with family and friends, and praising the LordŐs name in song. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherished memories, devoted husband, Mark Lamartiniere; loving sons, Mark Jr. and Michael Lamartiniere; daughters-in-law, Barbara and Donna Lamartiniere; grandchildren, C.J. Sampey, Nicholas Sampey and wife Micah, Michael Jr. and Scott Lamartiniere, Jamie Forrest and husband Casey; great-grandchildren, Jordan Strahan, Blake Forrest, Keelan and Kinley Sampey; sisters, Rose Gollotte, Alice Robichaux and husband Bob, and a host of Godchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Chris Sampey; siblings, Edith Vampran, Ujie Boudoin, Evelia Abadie and Lillian Savoie.
