Services were held in St. Louis on Friday, December 31. He had been a resident of Hammond many years. He is survived by his widow; two sons, Anthony and Russell Lamonica; three daughters, Mary, Sarah and Josephine Lamonica; father, Tony Lamonica; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Verde, Mrs. Lucy Mascalco and Mrs. Mary Erutti; three brothers, Joe and Paul of St. Louis, and Gasper of Hammond. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 6/22/2006 LAMONICA, TINA PITSLATA Independence - Mrs. Tina Pitslata Lamonica, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at her residence in Independence. She was 90. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Rose Lamonica; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie Lamonica and Marion "Sonnie" Garofola; grandchildren, Kathy Lamonica, Joyce Lamonica, and Alvin "Bubbie" Stevens, Larry Sr. and Jody Garofola, and Ronald Garofola, great-grandchildren, Larry Garofola Jr., Todd Garofola, all of Independence, Ryan Garofola, and Fallyn Garofola of Walker, one brother, Tony Pitslata, Denham Springs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis T. Lamonica, a son, Anthony "Bubbie" Lamonica, her parents, Tony and Frances Pitslata, three sisters, Mamie Fileccia, Mary Lanza, and Lena Pecora, four brothers, Mike, Joe, Phillip, and Ralph Pitslata. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Thursday June 22, 2006, at McKneely Funeral Home of Amite. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday June 22, 2006, at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence, with Deacon Roger Navarra officiating.
