He was a native of Elton, a retired corrosion engineer with the U.S. government, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran having served in the European and Pacific theaters. He received the Purple Heart, Air Medal, Navy Unit Citation and a letter of commendation from Admiral Nimitz. He was a former Eucharist minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 3rd and 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Conseula LaCroix Langley; four sons, Leon M. Langley Jr., New Orleans, Benjamin E. Langley, Red Oak, Texas, David L. Langley, Houston, Peter W. Langley, Opelousas; two stepdaughters, Linda Inman, Lake Charles, Nanette Wiggins, Phoenix; brother, William Rex Langley, Church Point; and four grandchildren. His wife, Julia Wilson Langley; and a grandson, preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, tonight from 6 to 10 with a 7 p.m. Knight of Columbus service and Wednesday from 8 until 9:45 a.m. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m., and entombment will follow in Westlawn Mausoleum, Terrytown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, Minn. 55101. ***************************************************************************
